About Us

Test Amanda got her first horse at age eight, a paint mare named Candy. She has owned paints, appaloosas, thoroughbreds, and quarter horses before drafts. In the mid 90s Amanda started spending time at the carriage horse stables in Atlanta and grew fond of the street horses, most being draft crosses. In 1996 she purchased her first draft cross, whose sire and dam were both carriage horses. In 1997 she purchased her first Shire mare, Red Oak Midnight Angel. A few years later Nottingham Shire & Carriage For Hire was established in 2000. Yasir had no previous horse experience before marrying Amanda, but he quickly took an interest in the horses and the carriage business. He currently drives a carriage for special events on the weekends and participates in the shows. At Nottingham we have safe, responsible carriage horses available for special events as well as downtown tours. All of our street horses have also participated in local draft shows and are trail ridden as well at their country stable. Besides the carriage horses, we also have a few broodmares we show and breed. We usually have at least one foal for sale and occasionally older stock as well. We are proud members of the Carriage Operators of North America, Ga Draft Horse Association, American Shire Horse Association, and the Shire Horse Society in England.
